The Hallmark Channel announced some very exciting news - via Facebook Live Today in Central Park, with Crown Media’s President and CEO Bill Abbott, EVP Ad Sales Ed Georger, and two of Hallmark's favorite, well known actresses... Candace Cameron Bure and Danica McKellar!

They announced Christmas Movie News, three Hallmark Movies & Mysteries movies, and a Season 6 for "When Calls the Heart," and more!!! I know I am personally ecstatic to know this beloved show will be returning for another incredible season... I can't wait to see what will happen next in Hope Valley!

It's quite appropriate that a blast of winter snow disrupted Hallmark in sharing this news the way they had originally planned... since they are the "Heart of Christmas!"  Even the first few days of Spring... look like Winter... when there is Hallmark news to reveal!

*“The Chronicle Mysteries” starring Alison Sweeney

*“Picture Perfect” (or “Just Shoot Me”) starring Alexa PenaVega & Carlos PenaVega

*Untitled Christmas Movie - based on John Ondrasik's (Five for Fighting) hit song "Christmas Everyday"

*Home & Family Dream Holiday Home Decorating Contest

*More Pet Initiative Projects - Cat Bowl & renewal of American Rescue Dog Show

*“Meet the Peetes” (reality show) renewed for Season 2.

*“When Calls the Heart” renewed for Season 6!

*Christmas in July News: Hallmark Movies & Mysteries Gold Crown Christmas programming block will air from June 29, 2018 to July 8, 2018!

  1. I see why there haven't been any more Murder She Baked, but great to hear Alison Sweeney will be doing a new series. This is all such wonderful news, good we get more Meet the Peete too :)

    1. Probably, there's too many Murder, She Baked Mystery books.

Since Cameron had signed 9 more "Murder, She Baked", instead that's it!!!

    2. Glad you enjoyed ALL the exciting news! It is a bummer to see there probably won't be any more Murder She Baked movies... I haven't heard any reasoning..... so.... who knows???

Whatever the case, I'm sure many of us will still see Alison as Hannah, baker/crime solver! It will be different, for sure.

    1. My feet are dancing in my chair right next to you Joyce...lol.

I wonder if the November 4th, 2018 start of HMM Christmas movies is actually the start of the NEW movies? They did something similar this past year. November 4th, 2017 was the start of the NEW movies on HMM but the kickoff of the Christmas movies actually started a few days earlier on HMM where as the regular Hallmark NEW movies started earlier.

Love all the good news. Loved seeing Candace and Danica in the Facebook video with the news.

    3. I'm so HAPPY this news made YOU both so HAPPY!!!

It's always Christmas at Hallmark, so it seems... or they are always talking about something Christmassy!!!

I love it, too.... I'm joining your extra Happy Hallmark Dance!!!

  3. I'm a bit disappointed to hear about the new "Chronicle" mysteries with Alison Sweeney, as I love her "Murder, She Baked" series and I guess this means it really has wrapped up.

    1. I feel just the same, Beth. I was really hoping they might listen to fan response and bring Murder She Baked back for a few more. Among all the murder mystery type movies, it is my favorite, next to Aurora! (SSD is my overall non-murder-mystery favorite)

Anyway.... like you I was still hoping, but since Alison has this new mystery project, I'm sure Murder She Baked is a thing of the past, which I really don't get. Why end a mystery that everyone loved and wanted more of, and start another with the same lead actress? There must be more to this story. A real-life mystery!

I share your disappointment, Beth! Thank you for commenting!

  4. I assume this officially ends the Murder she Baked series since they announced a new mystery series of movies with Allison Sweeney (called Mystery Chronicls).

    1. I can only hope Cameron Mathison will be in the new series with Ally, that would be awesome.

    2. Cameron Mathison won't be in "The Chronicle Mysteries", with Ally but she will pairing with different actor

I'm hoping Marc Blucas!!! But he's about to start a new show himself so probably not him.

    4. Yeah, tvh...it sounds like this might be the end of Murder She Baked. Stick a fork in it...it's done.

I'm pretty disappointed... I loved Eden Lake, the interesting mysteries, Hannah, and her lively bakery, her sweet sister Andrea, her eccentric Mother, dear friend Norman, the regular townspeople, and of course, her Cat....and, most definitely... I loved Hannah and Mike!

    5. Sabrina... I think it would be fun to see Cameron Mathison in this, even if it's only a guest spot sometime on this new mystery. Or, who knows...anything is possible with Hallmark! They often pair-up the same couples. But since this is a new mystery... I'm thinking they'll probably go with someone else, but I do love Cameron, too!!!

    6. Now that is an excellent idea, Joyce! Marc Blucas! I know I'll watch, no matter what, but I just might (*wink) be a little more enthusiastic if her opposite is Marc Blucas!!!

Yes...definitively more enthusiastic if her opposite is Marc Blucas! Wouldn't that be awesome!
I'm still hoping that some where down the line Hallmark will surprise us and they will make at least a wedding episode for MSB. I agree with the statements...makes no sense to end that series when I do believe over all it is the most liked of the mystery series.

Net...the comment you made about MSB..."Stick a fork in it...it's done" is hilarious! Quite "witty"! Love it!
      Blessings to you!

  5. It also said there will be NO New Christmas movies in July (I am sad). And also, I am wondering if the untitled Christmas movie with the hit song could be one Leann Rimes is filming? Maybe she sings in it?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. The movie that LeAnn Rimes is filming has a title. It's not the same movie as the one based on the Five for Fighting song. Two totally different projects.

And also, Hallmark changes things quite often after announcements have been made. I would not rule out the possibility of a new Christmas movie or two in July, despite what Entertainment Weekly said.

      Delete
    2. LeAnn Rimes’ new Christmas movie called; “It’s Christmas, Eve”, it’s currently filming in Canada.

Hallmark Channel movies are supposed have some 1 or 2 movies & even after Christmas Keepsake if there’s new movies

      Delete
    3. Saw LeAnn Rimes in the new Hallmark Channel Christmas commercial, which promotes the upcoming 22 New Christmas Movies for the 2018 Holiday Season!!!

      Delete
    4. The Leann Rimes movie also has Giles Panton in it, the movie I loved him best in was the Aurora, the one where he was the bad guy. He is a good bad guy. But he will be good in this movie. I am just so excited for Christmas movies already.

    5. Net, LeAnn Rimes’ new Christmas movie called; “It’s Christmas, Eve”.

I guess she protrayed as Eve

It’s Christmas, Eve is currently in production in Canada

    6. Oh, yes, Sabrina... I saw that, too, on Twitter! I know you been following them, as well, and all the Christmas movie making excitement! I'm so glad we officially know it's for Hallmark!

Looks like such a sweet cast! The young boy actors Christian Convery and Beckham Skodje look like they will be absolutely adorable in it and I agree, Sabrina, it's so fun to see Giles Panton play a nice guy, again, for this one!

I'm so excited for Christmas movie news, too! :)

    7. Anonymous... Thank you for commenting. Yes, the current title for LeAnn Rimes Christmas movie is "It's Christmas, Eve"! I have it posted on my Christmas movie list - here!

It's nice to know this one is officially a Hallmark Christmas movie!

    1. Yeah, it's disappointing no new Christmas movies for July... kinda secretly hoping they just might surprise us with just one!

  7. One more thing, those seem to be weird weeks to have Christmas in July, especially if there are 5 movies for June weddings, 1 will be played while Christmas is on HMM, and also, Christmas movies will be on the 4th of July? I am wondering if that will get pushed back like last year. Just my opinion. And also, The Good witch finale will be on July 1st, going off of them having 10 episodes a season. Seems weird to have a show finale and Christmas on the other channel.

    1. Hallmark changes things multiple times after publicly announcing dates and details. They were making changes to the holiday season line-up all the way up to late November/early December last year. I'm sure that something will change with the July Christmas schedule before late June.

      Delete
    2. Yes, it's possible the schedule may be completely different by the time July comes around. It will be interesting to see how they schedule the June weddings... perhaps, even two in one weekend, (like Valentine's day) just to squeeze them all in!

      Delete
    3. How come there's no Chriistmas in July because "It's Christmas, Eve", is already filming?

      Delete
    4. Hallmark Movies & Mysteries have already filmed one of their movies, as well... "Marrying Father Christmas" with Erin Krakow and Niall Matter.

Since Hallmark has committed themselves to making more Christmas movies than last year, they have decided to start filming them even sooner, which will in turn give them more time for promotional work and editing.

Might they change their mind and still play something new in July? Yes, anything is possible. But for now, they have announced all the new movies are coming during the Holiday Season, so... unfortunately, we'll have to wait and see!

  8. There was never any doubt in my mind that WCTH would be rewarded to us for a season 6. It gets better and better each year. I'm loving all the new news for both Hallmark and H M&M channels!! Thanks, Net!!

    1. I was feeling pretty confident, too, Linda... I mean, the ratings for WCTH are really high and social media support is incredible! Plus, the show is unique, the cast is wonderful, and the storyline's are captivating! We are invested in these character's lives and I can't wait to see where their stories lead to next!

Thank you for your sweet comment! Blessings, Net

Have you heard anything if Jill Wagner is starring in any of the upcoming Christmas movies? I am one of her diehard fans. Thank you.

    1. Thank you, Alicia! I'm so glad you enjoy visiting here! I'm such a big fan of Jill Wagner, too! As you probably know, I was blessed to have the opportunity to interview Jill (see here!) last fall on her INSP show, "Handcrafted America" and her Hallmark movie "A Harvest Wedding." That was just before she filmed "Karen Kingbury's Maggie's Christmas Miracle!" What a sweetheart, and so giving to share her heart and so much with all of us here!

As for future projects, Jill has shared she is working on a story for Hallmark of how she & her now husband met and fell in love. However, nothing "official" has been announced. Some projects take a little longer, than others, to be made.

I wouldn't be surprised if we also heard she was doing another Hallmark Christmas movie, too!

Thank you, again, for your sweet comment, Alicia! Blessings on your day!!! Net
